Silica Sand
Silica (the name given to a group of minerals composed of silicon and oxygen) exists in many different forms. At Sibelco we produce the crystalline forms of silica – Quartz and Cristobalite – as both sands and flours.
Silica is hard, chemically inert and has a high melting point, making it a valuable material in a range of applications. For industrial use, pure deposits of silica capable of yielding products of at least 98% SiO2 are required.
